Called 611 found a nice person, was about to tell me aobut the ESN number when he accidentily hung up on me. Called back and got a dippy southern lady who said they cannot due ESN checks over the phone...wtf? It is possible, right? I am calling back now....grr, they 'accidently' hang up on me alot.
This one seems better, but I am on hold.....same music as a year ago...get it together Verizon! Lol...holding stinks...never too long with them tho...
They said they can't do that? WTF! They cannot tell....umm ok how does their system work then, dumb dumb! What am I going to do now....611 is worthless...I dont wanna pay until I confirm it!
As a non-"dippy" rep from Verizon I can tell you that regular reps can do an esn trace. If the rep refuses to help escalate because it can be done.
I dont know about verizon but the company i work for tells us due to legal reason we can not give the number out on the phone but i know we can use the # to pull up accounts.
hmmm, have you tried searching yahoo! for a esn dec/hex converter...i know we have a computer program at work that you just type in the hex (the 6 digit one (?) with the letters and numbers) and it generates the esn decimal for you... i did take a computer assembly language (twice, actually because i didnt do so well in it the first time) and i tried translating the hex to decimal myself, but that didnt work...hehe, peace all
http://www.infosyssec.org/infosyssec/cellcom1.htm try this place out...seems like a good amount of info there plus a program you can download to convert your esn...what do you need it for anyways?? insurance claim?? peace all...
Just forget about it. I wanted Verizon to check the ESN on this Ebay phone I purchased, to make sure it wasn't stolen etc. before I paid for it. But, it was such a goddarn hassle I just said screw it and take my chances.
