I have an Audiovox 8910 Camera Phone and without warning it displayed this error message "Please wait, User data is being restore....[7]. I can't call out or receive any calls. When I dial a number it looks fine and then this message comes up, the phone turns off and then automatically on again. Can anyone tell me what it means?????? Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I have the exact phone and the exact issue. The phone was shut down for 2-3 days while I was on vacation and now it will not boot or charge. I've tried another battery to no avail.

Can you tell me the status of yours and if you've resolved the issue?

Your phones are toast... unless they're less than 12 months old and still covered by Audiovox's warranty. I've seen a few phones with this problem and I haven't heard of anyone who has restored their phone to working order. You might see if your carrier can reflash the phone with new software... that might work.

No helping it. Once it's out of that 12 month warranty either file an out of warranty insurace claim, or you will have to purchase a new phone.
Not sure what make them do that.

I'm betting that the phones have either been dropped or have water damage/corrosion... or it could just be that UT/StarCOM makes crappy phones, even when they were still using the Audiovox name... or was the 8910 a Toshiba? I can't remember anymore.

My mom once had an Audiovox phone and it was one of the worst phones I ever saw, but all she cared about was that it was cheap - and that's definately what she got.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted a reply......I tried everywhere to see if there is anything I can do and everyone says the phone is "TOAST" ....I had to activate my old old Samsung. However, I still use the Audiovox for the alarm and all the text messages that are sent to my Samsung also come thru on the Audiovox even though it is not connected Hmmmm. Anyway, I gave up on it. Thanks again.
P.S. I think I fried it when I used the car charger....the red and green light kept flashing on and off and it never worked after that.
