I've been told by a few cellular reps that all phones have the same reception because they all use 0.6W of power. That seems to be a little bit of a myth, though, as many people seem to think one phone or another has better reception. So 1) is it true and 2) what phones are currently offering the best reception?

It is true that some phones work better than others. In some cases you can have two of the same phones and one will out perform the other ( I don't think the quality controle is that great in the industry). As for specific models, it depends on what system you mant to use them on, and it doesn't seem so much to be which phones are the best as much as some phones are just considered to be very bad.
