Geez...I just spent half the night listing my first item. Fricking ridiculous! I plan on using it more and more as time goes on both for buying and selling, so i have to do all this crap.

If you want anyone to buy from you, you have to jump through 6 million verification hoops, get all these little stars, and all sorts of crap. Very complicated, which is why I always used someone else before.

    Anyone else use Ebay??

They have built a mini-industry on selling you things that "Verify" you and make you more "trustworthy" so more people will buy from you.

Funny thing...I was going to put my a530 on ebay. I sold it on here in like...1 day.

UGH! I hate ebay. It's not too hard to sell items, but then again I have sold a few things on there. However, it is full of glitches. I sold my 730 on there last week, I was almost done with the listing, and it erased all of my information. I was so ANGRY! Plus, ebay fees were like 17$ on top of 7$ in paypal fees. Paypal sucks IMO. Visa/AX/Cover/MC need to get together and make a paypal like service, and charge a decent amount.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, but, I tried selling my v120e (when it was new) on eBay...well, through my friend, and the process seemed really complicated. When I bought my v60i, it wasn't difficult, but, sort of confusing, when it came to sending the $ via Paypal....eh, just my 3 cents.

As time goes by, they figure out new ways to make things more secure to avoid scams and to be able to track down scammers. This complicates the process of becoming a seller. I remember it was simpler before. However, I don't mind the complexity as long as it contributes to security.

Before I even got to selling my A530 on Ebay, I just mentioned it here and within 1 day I had several interested buyers. The winners shot $150 bucks my way via Paypal and all was right in the world.

Right now I have pressure washer on Ebay...don't think it has gotten 1 bid.

The more local the selling item is, the more people want to buy it? Like with so many people on this forum, your phone got sold quickly, since people are already here for phones, and looking for service. But on eBay, people just want to look for phones, and don't want to pay half of what the item is being sold for. Not a for sure analysis, but, hey, I tried..?

I'm not touching that with a ten foot pole. It's only a matter of time before you-know-who comes in here and accuses everyone of being klansmen!

    BACK ON TOPIC:

I told a few people today to get on here to sell their phones. Color GSM Nokias (new ones) people are switching and porting awfully quick now. They aren't taking crap...just their numbers.

I can actually say I have always had good experiences with ebay. I have about 59 stars on there from positive feedback. I do lots of buying here and there on ebay and some selling on the side too. I will agree with Delta on getting the item listed ... it does take a little while. Overal though I find ebay to be pretty useful and paypal is better now that ebay bought them out.

You get nickel-and dimed to death. You really have to sell your first item and go through the building the ad process to see for yourself. Delta is right on the mark.
