If it is a huge lot being sold it may have come from a company which just upgraded their phones for their employees. I have had very few problems buying on Ebay. My biggest problems is if a seller does not know about the item he/she is selling. A powerseller is no guarantee that the person knws what he is doing, but you do have a better chance.

I have a v3c and they had a lot of s/w updates when they 1st came out. Ask them what s/w version it has (should be GATW_04.06.00R) and the browser should be (openwave 6.2.3). Hope this helps.

the biggest risks of ebay phones are unpaid accounts and locked phones. an alltel rep can usually unlock the phone, and if you know the old phone # you can probably do it yourself.

Well, maybe. Alltel policy is not to allow a phone on a non-pay disconnected or written-off account to be activated on another account until the old account is paid in full. So if you're buying an Alltel phone that is being sold by someone who has not paid their bills, chances are you won't be able to use the phone on the Alltel network until they do.

that was actually what i was trying to say. if you buy on ebay, check to see that the account wasn't delinquent or you're screwed. if you buy one where the ONLY problem is that the phone is locked, that's an easy fix by alltel people.
