Dual Telephone SIMMS - Two lines I currently have a TDMA Nokia programmed for two telephone lines. I can select either one. However, Cingular/ATT plans to eliminate TDMA by June 2007. I understand that there are dual simms available for two line reception/transmission on GSM. Can someone with some experience or expertise in this area tell me what I must do when it comes time, reluctantly for me to switch to dual-line, quad-band GSM, so that I can have a dual SIMM within it. Do I have to buy the dual/line SIMM? Will any dual line SIMM work with any phone? If I want a GSM with voice dialing, speakerphone, blue tooth, small and compact, AND maybe TV capability and voice recorder, any recommendations on a particular SUPER/ special GSM. I prefer the smallest phone possible if it has at least speakerphone, voice-mail dialing, and picture capability. Any suggestions on dealing with Cingular/ATT when it comes time to get a dual-line new GSM phone? I understand that they are going to try to force people to switch to GSM before June 2007 by starting a "surcharge" for $5/month to force people to start switching. With the dual line phone, other than turning it off, is there any way to keep my privacy as to my location?

Re: DUAL LINE SIMMS - 2 telephone lines See my two posts in this thread: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/nokia/54182-nokia-e50-business-phone.html?highlight=dual+sims good luck
Re: DUAL LINE SIMMS - 2 telephone lines I know Motorola phones can be seem edited to accomodate 2 line sims. It seems like a V3 razr is your best bet. I'm not sure if Cingular supports 2 line SIMS though. -Jay
Re: Dual Telephone SIMMS - Two lines It would be better to say that the GSM specifications include two line phones. Most of the GSM phone I have handled have the ability. However, I don't know of a carrier that offers this service. Skipping over all the stuff in the middle about phones with your prefered features. Since establishing your position is done by the network, by receiving your handset at available sites, you can avoid it only by turning off your phone. COtech
Re: DUAL LINE SIMMS - 2 telephone lines As of now, Cingular does not support the 2 line SIM's from my understanding. There does seem to be a lot of people that want or could use this feature.
Yes, but you can place 2 sims in one phone...see my post in the General Wireless Forums Which apparently got moved to this thread!! - sorry, i didn't check first.
Or you can buy a SIM Card reader and a Multiple Sim Card (6 in 1) and use it on your GSM handset. But you cannot have both SIM numbers working at the same time on the same handset, you must switch from one SIM to the other. Also cannot use the same SIM card number working on 2 handsets at the same time. Must turn off 1 handset before using the other one with the same SIM number. Detailed Product Description Specifications: 1) 6-in-1 card 2) SIM 1 switch to SIM 2, while SIM 1 is invisible 3) Invisible when someone dialed SIM 1, system tone noticed. The number you dialed cannot connect at a moment, please dial later 4) Auto switch online (two times auto switch, the time is 00:00 (MM:HH) 5) IP dialing device 6) Enlarge phone book 250 groups 7) Enlarge message 80 groups 8) Set number freely on screen (for example: 13682234567 on your mobile) 9) The sim card decoding aiming at cmp128 v1 system has an accurateness rate of 100% 10) Card's capatibility 64k
With the Motorola phones both numbers can be active at the same time if the carrier supports it. -jay
