Yea you hear right. I am dropping my nationwide Cingular plan - beacuse seriously I never travel the nation. And when I do, I don't want my cell to ring anyways - I am on vacation! Worse to worse just get a prepaid SIM. So... I will be dropping Cingular, and signing up with the 3,000 minute T-Mobile regional plan. --But... one problem. I live in Florida; and the regional plan only covers Florida in our area; thats with an ORLANDO number. --If I get Jacksonville number I can get Georgia and South Carolina added to the coveage map... but thats not enough. --So I check a whole bunch of zip codes in AL, FL, GA, SC, TN. --And found out that with a Fort Walton number I can get coverage in Florida, Alabama Mississippi, and Louisiana. -- OR I can get an Atlanta number which the coverage includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee. And since most of my travels outside of the state are in Georgia, and South Carolina; I said what the heck I am going to get an Atlanta number. Therefore I also have the coverage in Alabama, and Tennessee if I need it. Would be nice to add North Carolina - but that won't happen. Or is there a zip that include NC? And I will get a local number from GrandCentral. What do you all think? ----------------- Now for the questions. Can I add unlimited texting to this plan? And can I text while outside my region?
If you're in the Carolina's you'll be roaming on AT&T along with the East Tennessee Market. So you may not be getting that great of a deal.
Yea, thats okay though. With the novel feature of NETWORK SELECTION I can get Suncom instead. And its just piece of mind have an ATL number with TN, AL, and SC added - rather than just getting FL and GA. Ya know?
I was under the the impression that Suncom is TMobile's preferred roamer in the Carolinas If the plan suits you, then by all means, go for it... just don't answer the thing while roaming Also, according to TMo's site, long distance charges apply whenever a call is placed to outside of the region Maybe this is where the grand station thing comes in (?)
Wow. I just realized that. So, in that case I might go with the 1500 Nationwide Plan - for 39.99. How much does it cost to add N/Ws on?
The closest major cities to NC that have native T-Mobile coverage are Norfolk and Chattanooga... Norfolk zips do, but you'd get NC/VA/DC/MD and not the South with that plan. Chattanooga zips don't (they get the same states as Atlanta.) If you want to see for yourself, I used 23321 - Chesapeake, VA 37421 - Chattanooga BTW, you don't have to get an Atlanta number -- a number from nearly anywhere in Georgia (except for the coastal areas -- Savannah, Statesboro, Brunswick -- which are lumped in with Jacksonville and only get FL/GA/SC) or Chattanooga will get you the same coverage. -SC
That's been the case for a couple of years now -- T-Mobile SIMs are set to prefer SunCom over AT&T, and roaming on AT&T is barred in many (but not all) areas where SunCom has service. -SC
ATT is the only GSM carrier in east TN at this time. I'm not sure if Tmobile has started building their network out here yet or not. I'm doubting it, but there's been speculation/talk on it in the past.
In that case, I guess I will be looking at either the 39.99 plan that has 1,000 minutes/n&ws, or maybe the 600 minutes/MyFaves/n&ws. And I will add m2m onto the plan. My maximum spending limit is $49.99. So would I have any other options?
no joke $39.99 gets you americas choice 450 with unl N&Ws and unl M2M, no roaming, excellent coverage everywhere whats not to like
And I comes with the unlmiited texting/pictures/Power Vision which is just so cool! And 500 anytime minutes with m2m and 7PM N/Ws. Also as bonuses I got Sprint TV/Radio too which is just soo soo cool! I've used the text to landline, sprint radio, sprint TV, PV, and calling - all work great!!!!!!!!!!
