There is alot of variables taking place and just working out their gremlins in a new networks will take alittle time. at&t is running both 1900 and 850 on both Nokia and Nortel power GSM base stations. The handoffs between NOKIA and Nortel plus dual band handoffs is tricky enuff. WCDMA being based on CDMA everyone knows in CDMA world that 850 to 1900 handoff is like mixing oil and water. Now take all of these factors and add them together with the miss match phone and sims floating around out there. WCDMA being a frequency hog doesnt help either. So far IMO the downfalls outway the benefits of WCDMA, I used to be exited about building a new WCDMA network for my company. Now I hope we wait for something else. I would rather have a reliable GSM voice network with slow A** EDGE over a blazing fast UMTS network that doesnt talk to anything but itself.
i really do agree with the last 2 lines of your statement,i really hope all the problems can be fiixed pretty fast, temper's are running high right now,
