Verizon has a teaser up for the Droid X. Droid Does | The Next Generation of Does by Verizon Wireless Some of the news sites are jumping the "720p Screen" feature. Motorola 'Droid X' to Challenge iPhone 4's Retina Display? - Mac Rumors It's unclear if this is referring to the HDMI output capability, or if the Droid X will have a 1280x720 screen to beat the iPhone's 960x640. If so, given the Droid X's larger 4.3 inch display, the DPI would be about the same. For what its worth, Phonearena suggests an 854x480 display, and 4.4 inches. Motorola DROID X (Phone Arena)
LOL.... phones are growing in size again. Before we know it they will have a model with a screen large enough that we can hang it on the wall.
I like the iPhone 3.5 inch, but I would also like a 5 to 7 inch Android device that I could tether and carry around as an option. The 10-inch iPad is too close to laptop size for me. I'm kind of undecided about these 4 to 5 inch phones--I would have to use one for a while and see how it fits/feels.
True...:lmao: I wonder if a new segment of phone will emerge. Larger in size than normal phones, but not quite as iPad big. It wouldn't make sense to continue down the bigger screen size road (as a whole) as eventually they'll become to big for pockets...4 inches and above is treading on "too big" territory, IMO. The cool thing is the amazing screen resolution. Such a big difference from the first color screen phone I ever owned, the Moto T720, back in 2002. 8 years tends to do that to technology.
I was just thinking this week about this. A new pair of pant I have, like others, has a square interior pocket inside the right front pocket. It perfectly fits the width and thickness of my iPhone. Anything bigger wouldn't fit. It would not be the end of the world, but i like this current 3.2" size or rather the overall size of the iphone, BB, etc. Beyond that, just move to the iPod size.
Verizon has modified its Droid X teaser page, replacing the "720P Screen" text with "Captures 720p", indicating that the earlier version was an error.
