Let see the data in a couple months. The phone is the new hot toy on Verizon, and everyone is playing with it nonstop.
I'm guessing by this story, the Droid X a pretty darn good phone! Hopefully some of the minor issues with it will be worked out soon. Since the iPhone isn't an option for me, this phone or the Incredible would do nicely! :browani:
I bit the bullet and paid retail for an Incredible. So far it is nice. Putting the phone thru the paces now. I think I will keep it... and use my enV touch as a back up device. My hands are kinda cramped using it but I think its just a learning curve for me.
I have used about double what I used to on my BB Storm 2 with Verizon. I have definitely not used 5x the amount of data. I know someone that has a Storm 2 on Verizon that uses over 2GB per month! I think the iPhone still might end up using more than the Droid X (if not, then they may be close to each other). The good thing is that Verizon Droid X users haven't crashed the network like the iPhone did to AT&T's network. I haven't seen any of the reported issues select others have had so far, Mike.
Android smartphones do use a lot of data, but I would not put it past Verizon to publicize such information to support their upcoming tiered data initiative.
I'm scared for the tiered pricing...My iPhone on AT&T would run close to 5GB a month even with the unlimited plan - My Storm2 is using more data on Verizon's network than I ever used on T-Mobile with my 9700, even tethering. None-the-less, fiance's Cliq on T-Mo gobbles up the bandwidth also..It's a mixed bag. New Incredible and Droid X are hot and fresh...lots of people running through all of their features and playing around, seeing what they can stream. We shall see how it pans out ;-)
