Has anyone had this pain in the @ss problem yet? I have a downloaded ringer that I'm using for one of my memory locations, everytime that person sends me a SMS that downloaded ring will not turn off, No matter what I do...

Mine does that too, I was at work the other night and my bf messaged me and all you could here was inspector gadget going on and on. I was like "Sorry! I can't shut it off!" as I was fumbling around with it my costumers were laughing at me. [IMG]

I got my phone flashed... last Friday. That' happened to me too, I've found that putting your finger over the Motorola emblem on the cover helps to muffle it, but nothing seems to stop it (other than removing the battery).

Do you just go to the verizon store to have it flashed?
And is it free to have done?
I just bought mine on saturday and It's got the 19c

Yes, I went to the store to have it done. It's completely free. Verizon wants to have these bugs worked out too. You may have to leave your phone (or wait 30 minutes - depending on the line) while they hook it up and update the software.

That's good. I think I'll go down there after the holiday and see if I can have that done.

I finally fixed this on my phone. I went into ring styles, and detials, and for inbox i changed it to just a beep type alert. Now it doesn't play my regular ring tome and only beeps which is much better. Also I found that if you have a ringer ID set for a person, if they text you it will play their ringer ID.

try hitting the volume button the the side of the phone and then zero for silent. that should kill the rest of the ringer.

I say my verizon has awesome reception everywhere, and good rate plans. I had cingular and It absolutely sucked, I'd never go back to it.
edit: And my boyfriend has it and his reception and rate plans are terrible.

I say that I've heard nothing but bad stuff in my area about GSM and Verizon has the best coverage around here...

I took my phone in the other day because I was getting that same ringing problem. The guy told me that it's a problem when a text message and an incoming call happen close to the same time. He swapped my phone and I haven't had this problem with the new one (yet). Weird thing is that both the old and new had 19c on it.

...I also asked about getting a free battery and the guy said he had no clue about it and when I called *611 the rep said he had no clue about the free battery... Interesting liars...
