Is this really Dobson/cellular one's native coverage area??!!

I thought they had national coverage. If that is their native coverage, than they must do alot of roaming!

I would say that's likely, Centennial Wireless is a regional that offers National Plans, similar to Dobson, Centennial's coverage is smaller than what Dobson has.

Yes, that is Cellular One / Dobson's native coverage area. Their main roaming partner is Cingular. And if there isn't any Cingular coverage, which isn't likely, then they roam onto T-Mobile. Basically, with Dobson, Cingular, and T-Mobile, you cover almost all of the US. Dobson mainly provides the rural service for Cingular and T-Mobile, while Cingular and T-Mobile provide the more urban and suburban coverage for Dobson.

Yep, that's their native coverage. I may sign up for their data plan when I move across the river again in a few weeks. For $25 you get unlimited data with a pda device, cheaper then T-Mo or Cingular. :)

Yep, that's it. We have Cellular One and T-Mobile here. The Cellular One towers are overcrowded and people are complaining about dropped calls. Dobson doesn't want their customers roaming on the T-Mobile network in the Cell One home Area(and they aren't that hot about it outside of the home area as well).

Yeah, this is a big reason I'm going to be switching to Cell One soon. I'm looking to get a smartphone/pda and its a lot cheaper for me to get my wife and I unlimited data on Cell One than it is on Cingular. We'll wind up with unlimited everything except daytime minutes for about 90 bucks a month I think it was. Where it would be more like 120 on Cingular.

This is an older map. Just michigan alone has more coverage now.
