Following in a similar vein, how many of us have a 2nd or spare battery for our current cell phone? Your current phone, not ones from the past.

You can answer yes, no, or yes, if you use an external battery for charging, like a USB type that connects to your phone (what I do with my iPhone).

I do carry a spare battery for both of the phones I carry daily (BB and G1). Comes in handy often after long calls or data sessions. I get spare batteries cheap on ebay or from OEM retailers (usually about $10-20 each). I did buy a "universal" AA Energizer charger, but never used it because I don't like to have something dangeling from my phone when I'm trying to use it. It's more convenient to pop in/out a fresh battery and keep going. To recharge my dead battery I just put it back in my phone next time I'm near a charger. No external "battery charger" needed.

Along with the extra batteries, I also keep a micro-USB cable handy so that I charge my phones when I'm near a PC.

I used to keep a spare battery on me when I had my StarTac, but that phone would only last 10 hours if I was lucky, and I was constantly forcing it onto analog because of the spotty digital coverage I had around work at the time. Now, my current phone (Win Mobile HTC Pure) will last up to 2 or even 3 days in some cases if I forget to charge it. I have no need to carry a spare battery anymore.

I bought a Seidio Innocell 1700mAh extended battery (same size as the original) and use this in my Storm 2. If I know I am going to be away from my charger for an extended period (which I never am), then I will bring both batteries with me. I also have a Seidio Multifunction Battery Charger which allows me to charge an extra battery and my device at the same time.

I don't have any spare batteries for my current phones. I would like to get one for my HD2 as I plan on keeping it until it dies. :)

Haven't needed one for the Voyager. I've had excellent battery life for this phone for the past two years I've been using it.

I have always had spare batteries. My wife and I have BB Pearl 8100s and between us we have almost 8 batteries but rotate amongst 6 of them regularly...

I have an extended battery for my enVTouch. I was appalled that LG put such a low powered battery on a media rich phone as this. 900mAh isn't going to cut it... I found that out when I was only able to get through 1 day on a charge. I bought an extended battery so I can go days between charges....

    Thanks for more people voting.

We're still missing quite a few WA regulars...what are you guys doing? Waiting for your new batteries to come in from Amazon? ;)

It's looking like the majority of us so far do not have 2nd batteries (fitted batteries) for our phones.

My USB spare, I almost never carry with me, except in my attache case, but never when I'm out and about. It is only a planned very heavy day, or a day in the woods where i know I will be away from power sources and/or will be using the GPS heavily is when I try to carry it.

I like having a Plan B. It's the Boy Scout in me. :O

I don't have a spare. Usually when my battery starts to go bad (like it is now), it is time to get a new phone. ;)

I do not have a spare battery and this is a first. I have had spare battery/extended battery with and without external battery charger, cradle charger etc for all my previous SmartPhones.

Yep, I do have a spare battery, and have for several of my previous phones. I use my Seidio 1750mah battery as my primary in my Evo, and the stock 1500mah as a spare.
On my Pre and Touch Pro, I had spare batteries that were given to me by sprint. I also have an external USB charger that uses 1 AA battery that I got in 2006 during a power outage.

No, I don't have a spare battery for my Palm. But I do have chargers everywhere (ie: home, work, car, at every computer I use, etc) so if my battery does get low I am able to charge it conveniently.

I've never bought spare batteries for any of my phones, but I do keep chargers in the car. Also, swapping the battery on this particular phone would be a little bit more of a PITA.

What happened to the days of charging your phone once or twice a week. I just keep a charger at home, work, and in my car.

Not only a spare battery, but two spare batteries for my Samsung Omnia I900. :) This device is power hungry. When I use it normally, it stands nearly one day. But if I want to travel? One battery isn't enough. I even think about connecting external accumulator. GPS navigations tears the battery in two hours, for this external accu might be great.

I do for one phone - but only because I found it in the street. :) I spotted a phone smashed in the street one day while on a walk in my neighborhood; I salvaged the battery just in case I ever needed it. Never have, as the original battery in my 2005 Nokia still functions perfectly fine.

I have 2 additional batteries for my HTC Incredible. I bought the extended battery for it and I was able to keep the original battery when I did an insurance claim.
