Does anybody have an update when Alltel is slated to have digital service available in the Marquette, MI area? It seems as though Alltel must be falling behind their plan and nobody seems to know what is going on.[IMG]

There's still no CDMA up there! Alltel customers must be pi$$ed, I was up there about 9 months ago roaming on there analog towers and the coverage was horrible.

How close is the digital to you? Typically, from my experiences with Alltel and their CenturyTel overlay, they turn on 8-10 new CDMA overlays ever few months...I wish that they would turn on a tower upon completion, but they do not. I would assume that the next round of overlays will be turned on this month because it has been 4 since they completed the last ones here. My friend that works in outside sales said that within the next 60 days, they hoped to have nearly all of the Centurytel towers in my area finished.

One delay is the fact that I think they are running new fiber lines to all of the old towers. If it takes the local carrier a while to run the fiber, it adds to the amount of time it takes to overlay the area. Hopefully you will have digital service this month.

If you could tell me how close you are to digital service, I might could give you a better idea. Here in Northeastern AR, Alltel started overlaying from where they already had digital on their heritage system and moved westward. I think that plan was the same everywhere, rather than just building out from the cities. I am not sure though. Don't hold me to that.

Hope I have been somewhat helpful.
