Depends on your OS. I think in XP it will work without software, usually.

To transfer photos from my Canon to my laptop, I needed to load the software (even though I have XP).

But, I finally noticed that I didn't need to load the software, since my laptop has a built in SD card slot on the side of it. :)

Shizam, if that doesn't work, then you will either have to load the software or buy a memory card reader (SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader) that plugs directly into your USB 2.0 port, and it reads all kinds of memory including:

Reads and writes to CompactFlash Type I/II, Secure Digital, mini Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, RS-MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SmartMedia and xD-Picture Card.

That would be your last resort, if your camera doesn't simply plug into your USB 2.0 port without loading the software and you decide that you do not want to load the software on your computer.

    I hope this helps.

Let us know how it works out shizam. ;)

Well....I'm happy! I just plugged the camera in to my PC...and XP detected the camera and asked me what I wanted to do with the pics....even asked if I wanted them deleted from the camera. Very cool.

YaY! I'm glad I don't have to load Kodak software on my PC! :highclap:

    Cool.

My camera wanted me to load software on my laptop (but since I already have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0), I didn't want to load the software.

But like I said, I am glad that my laptop has a SD card slot on the right side of it.

Shizam, I am glad that you didn't have to load the software on your computer. :)

Hi Shizam looks like you are having a lot of fun with your camera snapping away cell tower pictures. Pretty soon you will have 50.

:D yep...sure am having fun. The quality is bad on them though, as I don't have my memory card yet, and I needed to fit more then just 9 pictures....so I had to set the quality lower to fit more pics :( BUT as soon as I get the memory card I will set back up to 4.0 MP.

I still have a while to go to hit 50 :( because I'm getting into it so late in the game. I think I have almost 20 now? Not sure. I REALLY want to win a mug :hyper:
