My mother's day present should be arriving anytime now, when I checked DHL today for tracking it said it was with the carrier for delivery, then it said "Cosignee Premises Closed will try again next business day."

Anyone have any idea what this means?

Dont trust DHL, in my experience they are a terrible company. When our appartments network needed some parts to fix water damaged equipment, DHL was supsto overnight the new parts. The next day, they said they attempted to deliver the part, but no one was home. That is impossible, seeing as that this is an appartment complex with a full staffed community center open 7am-10pm. Nice DHL, nice.

Hmmm... I had it shipped to my grandma's house, who was home all day, every day, all this week. (She refused to leave for fear she'd miss them.)

We live on an old rural route, so I think they were just too lazy to come out here and find us, so instead they dropped it at our local post office, who delivered it...

As for using DHL, I ordered from Amazon, and that's who they used to ship it...

DHL does have a service where they take it the bulk of the way there, and then the USPS delivers it. I always thought that service was crap though. Things get there faster with Priority mail.

Well this is to funny I am waiting for a new phone today from USPS. Well I go to my mail box and a note said noone was available to sign they never came to my door lol. So now I have to go to the post office on monday. LOL cant believe the service we pay for sometimes. Should not make such a big deal but I would like to have my toy to play with on one of my days off lol. Oh well more incentive to call in sick.

My experience with DHL was not good, either. I watched the guy sit in his truck, not get out and then when I went online to see the status it said that there was "no one home."

He never even got out of his truck!

I ended up calling their customer service line and leaving explicit instructions with two numbers to call, directions to my apartment, etc.

The bad thing is this was a Friday delivery and I didn't get my package until Monday... and it was the certified check so I could get my new car. I was not pleased.

But, to be fair, it isn't probably DHL the company's fault. Just their employees. The company I work for uses DHL and has had no complaints.

DHL is bad, but Airborne is worse. I think both use subcontractors for the final delivery. That was a problem. My Dad's old company always shipped his parts by Airborne, but they usually arrived late (sometimes days) because the drivers didn't like going out to his house, because it was going 20 miles out of their way from their regular route.

DHL bought out Airborne a few years ago. Airborne WAS the pits. We primarily use DHL now at work and I honestly don't know how DHL can ship a package from California to New York, overnight by 10AM for $25 (Large shipper discount..).
