Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Nope. I don't do guns. I can go places with what I carry that you can't with a gun. I have the option of responding to an assault with varying degrees of force, instead of just lethal force. You can only use your gun if your life is in danger. That is not always the case. Iwould consider a shotgun for the house, but I don't want to carry on the street.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Totally get your point, but if you're good at aiming it doesn't always have to be lethal :thumb: I go to the range a lot and can say with reasonable certainty that I could disable a person without causing death :evillaugh Just the same, I think I'm going to pick up one of those Comtech Stingers in your previous post. Thanks for the read. Munky, I noticed the pic... you need to go easy on the roids  Just playing I've been drinking milk too! Where did you pick up that credit card knife? that would be perfect
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 If I was going to carry a gun I would go for a Glock 19 or 23. The 19 fits my hand better, and it's easy to conceal. Personally I don't really like the Sig I fired, it didn't feel right in my hand.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 I can't speak for the larger Sigs, but my girlfriend has a 232 stainless and it has a nice feel to it. No doubt the 19 would fit your hand better, unless you are a "little person," but the 26 is an inch shorter and IMO would be that much easier to hide. Another gun that is attractive to me, is the Taurus model 85 with a concealed hammer. Again, not a gun I would shoot for fun I'd rather shoot a hi-point at the range :loony: Or are they called High-Point
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 The Sig I fired was a model 230, nice gun but it didn't feel right in my hand. True the 26 would be easier to conceal, but my hand comes to the bottom of the grip on the 19 so I think it would be hard for me to hold the 26 comfortably. Another nice gun is a 1911, I wouldn't carry it but it is fun to shoot.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Yeah, I've seen some really cool model 1911s, but never acutally shot one... I've held the 26 and bottom actually rests on my pinky, the only thing that I wouldn't like is the fact that the bottom might dig into my palm. I still think I'd trade that off for the smaller size, but to each their own. I think the range that I go to has a 26 rental... I may try it out tomorrow I guess I could stop hijacking this thread :evillaugh
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Dude, you're totally not hijacking this thread. I'm actually thinking about getting one soon, IF I CAN EVER STOP BUYING STRIDER KNIVES!!! Michelle is also looking into getting one, so there's another person who'll enjoy the gun talk. My semester just ended so I can put in the range time this summer. I want...something big...like an HK... That credit card knife sits in my wallet all the time. I got it for 35 from someone on a knife forum, but it usually goes for about 70. The guy was liquidating his collection for some reason. One of the guys on the forum was really pissed because I got it for that price and he paid full retail. There are other variations on the credit card knife:
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 I want that one you got with the finger holes... Craptain...post away. This is meant to be round-table, but most people just read.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 That's a Blackwood...custom work...it's kinda hard to find. I'll keep my eyes peeled I know there are a lot of guys here that are hanging out here but never post. I guess they think my dialogue with Delta is fun
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Of course...we're sooo entertaining! Like Cross and Lopez! Hey craptian, if you get a glock, you HAVE to get a Surefire X200 weapon light. You'll have to Google it..don't have time to post pics right now.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 But then it won't fit into the holster on the bottom of my coffee table :evillaugh ...ADT... PFT!!! actually I have looked into a few tactical lights like the Streamlight M-6, but don't have the cash Linky
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 FYI: Streamlight is garbage. X200: "The world's smallest high-performance LED WeaponLight™. Using advanced technology and an ultra-bright, shockproof LED, the X200 WeaponLight gives you the power to locate and momentarily blind. Attaches directly to all Universal rail and Picatinny rail-equipped handguns" I'm not trying to pick on your choice, just letting you know..95% of people who have tried both companies will toss their Streamlights in the garbage after trying Surefire. NOW...TO BE FAIR...yes, SF's are freaking expensive. I'm just of the mindset that I'd rather wait and get the good stuff when I can afford it than settle for less. That X200 also has a distinct point at the top of the beam...making it a target reference within 7 ft.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Here's a laser sight that will work with glocks and it would still fit in your holster. Laser sight. It's expensive but I kinda like it. Shooting a 1911 is fun but expensive because of the ammo.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 I like both suggestions, but having both the laser and light in one package is attractive to me. It's just hard to justify the $ on something that I may never really use. So I had a dream last night that I had to shoot someone... Without thinking he got one center mass. Upon further reflection in my dream, I really wish I would have planted a non-lethal shot. Guess I'll have to work on that. BTW, I was using a S&W .357 revolver, yikes. Note to self: no more gun talk before sleepy sleepy.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 If you want non lethal look at getting rubber bullets, like what the police use to disperse rioters. They break bones at close range but you wouldn't end up killing someone, most likely.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Hmmm, I like that idea... I think if I was to carry, I'd have the first three or so bullets be rubber with the remaining few being the real deal. I've never really given that much thought, but after that dream last night, it would seem like a good idea.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Another option, for home defense any way, is to use a shotgun with the beanbag rounds, they hurt but won't kill someone. It would leave a mark but shouldn't break anything.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 For home defense, I have no problem using real bullets and being lethal about it. Beware criminals :rasp: I ensure that everyone I know, knows this, so there will be no misunderstandings.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Good idea. I was looking at using a 12 guage pump action for home defense.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Bah! I won't be getting any toys for a few weeks I am sure. BTW..I saw The Punisher last night...not bad, but not near as good as everyone made it out to be. It's amazing the two seconds worth of emerson/strider footage will "make" the movie for some people. I still want an Emerson Karambit and an aluminum tarani trainer. Those would be nice. For now I'll have to be happy with what I got. I really don't need anything else, I have a 4-layer defense (Stingers, Surefire, LaGriffe, Kabar folding hunter) Too much and you don't know what to pull out! Looking into custom kydex rigs to make carrying/deploying more efficient. Also playing around with some more "old school" ideas..
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 BTW...just cord wrapped my LaGriffe. Unfortunatly I didn't get enough cord. Barely finished it. Will try again in a few days when I can pick some more up. Anyway, I did it like Geoff on USN suggested: Gutted the paracord first. Makes a nice wrap without making it bulky. Here's a bad LG6000 pic: Thats my news. Going back to the old job for a few weeks till VZW gives me the final say-so, so I may not be able to post outside of late evening. One more thing: You know who makes some bad-@ss little 'griffe-like custom knives? Mickey Yurco. I'll look for some of his work and post it. He's in Ohio..may have to pay him a visit next time I have a little cash.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 That's some nice work. I sent you about ten feet in the mail. Should be more than enough
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Oh yeah I forgot..Mickey is one of the hideaway guys. Check out that black one on the left.
Re: Delta and Yello's Bad @ss Thread Ver 2.0 Cool. I'll be sending you a Comtech Stinger. Will be sending it down to Blade with the guys from the local knife shop.
