Alright, time to get this started...

This was my first tactical knife, the Emerson SOCFK. I still have it, sitting in my drawer, still razor sharp



Next was the Emerson CQC-10, which I've had two, but sold both of them. I hate serrated knives



After that, the Emerson Commander, still one of my favorites



My backup knife, the Emerson Mini CQC-7



Now, part of my every day carry, two of these babies: the Emerson Combat Karambit



The Emerson La Griffe, which I love and makes for a great back up knife for my fixed blades



Finally, this is one of my favorites, for when I don't feel like carrying two knives, the Emerson Super SOCFK, four inches of stainless steel edge goodness

Then I went into the realm of Striders, which is hard to get out of. This was my first, the Strider HS karambit. A mean knife, but ultimately didn't feel right in my hand. Photo by my good friend Shelby Chan

Flashlights actually make excellent self defense weapons. If you're in the dark, and shine someone in the eyes with this, momentarily blinding them and them whacking them in either a fleshy sensitive area or a bony area that will break, you can get enough time to run

I actually don't know much about Pikal, to be honest with you. I've never seen it in person. If we could get Michelle's **** in here, then she might be able to give you some insight.

How do you attach your Surefire to the nylon thing? It attaches horizontally to your belt?

The Benchmade IS ugly, but it's a collectors item. It'll be going to someone else soon enough.

Did you cordwrap your La Griffe yet?

First, I am not affiliated with any of these companies, though they all know me by first name now

For Emersons and Striders:

Texas Tactical Supplies (will usually match lowest price, and usually has almost everything in stock. Most of my collection is from Will)

Actually, yes you do know about pikal... you're just getting bunched up on the terminology.

Pikal grip is what is commonly known as "ice pick" grip... or prison grip. Lol. Tip of knife pointed inward... I think you and I recently discussed the advantages of fighting this way... as well as the disadvantges. If its done correctly though (held in close alignment with the forearm) its has many good uses. If its done badly, its the easiest disarm there is.

Common grip is Langit - or saber grip... tip pointed foward... more reach this way, but also some disadvantages inherant to that too... its all about cicumstances and opponent.

The Benchmade is NOT ugly. It was designed by Neil Blackwood. What about it is ugly? Speak up!! I'm taking you guys to task on this one... Ohio isn't that far away... after that its just a quick flight to NY. You guys are in trouble now!!

Thanks for the clarification. Like we were saying the other day, my guro doesn't really go over terms with me, so sometimes I'm lost.

Ok, I'll hand it to Neil, it's a bad@$$ knife, but there ain't no way I'm carrying a knife with colored dots on the side! Hmmm...though, it's a knife very much like you...pretty, hardcore, and STRONG. That framelock isn't going to fold!
