That sounds about right. A month of good calisthenics will put you in shape for an intensive martial arts class, at least for a beginner.

Don't forget your leotard for the tae bo class

Dusting of my leg warmers right now....

WTF were leg warmers for anyway? And don't say "warming your legs"

I'm not sure what they are, but if they're the sleeve-like things that go over your legs, the theory behind it is that if your muscles retain it's heat, they'll be more limber.

So...got another knife today. Wanted to get one that would pass for a utility of a combat blade, but be lightweight and inexpensive. Settled on this 4" Ka-Bar Dozier Spear-point Hunter. Not bad for an all-around pocket, EDC knife. Sharp as ****. Probably the best knife I have got for under $25 in a long, long time.

Got my blue Inova in the mail today too (Only $17!!). Will order the Comtech Stinger tomorrow and try that puppy out.

BTW...we need to experiment with Surefires next (with the 120-lumen output lamps)

    May get a G2 in a few days if I get some more B-day money!! (Gotta love B-Day $$$) Only $33 for a G2!

You qualify for AARP membership this year, right?
    The L4 sure looks tempting...

...Just read the write up on the L4...65 Lumens output on an LED flashlight for over an hour, with usable light for over 3 hours...impressive. Digital reagulated power consumption, tactical use-level light output....all the benefits of a standard Surefire without having to worry about having to replace a $25 bulb. Hmmmm....$160 buck for a falshlight is pretty steep though, even for a surefire. Remember, the Lux-Star LED lights are coming out this year from Inova.

I'll probably just go with a G2 Nitrolon. The Competitors are catching up, so I have to wonder how much money are we paying for the name?

    The new Inovas:

    ANother new competitor:
"These lights are intended to directly compete with Surefire's tactical flashlights based on lower pricing, brightness and ruggedness. The Operative is positioned as a better alternative to Surefire's Executive series flashlights (PocketLights.com intends to sell these lights and other high quality tactical flashlights since Surefire stopped supplying internet retailers.). The Operative takes two 3-volt, lithium batteries and comes with a pocket clip and push button (On/Off/Momentary) switch. It retails for $75"

Here's Pelicans "Surefire Clone" That claims to do 108 Lumens. I had a Pelican when I was a Firefighter in the Navy...Very good light.

Yeah, the L4 is tempting, but I'm doubtful I'd spend that much on a flashlight. I could get a new Emerson for that price, or start to save up for another Strider...

    Strider, how I love thee...

But you're right, I'm totally stoked to get one of the Inovas. The T3 is HOT.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, my dad ordered an X5, and I tacked on an X1 onto the order. I got it on Monday. It's a great flashlight considering it's size. It throws a perfectly circular beam of light, no bleeding in the circle.

I'm so excited, that Strider above will be mine soon...

As for perfect light...my white Inova (which I no longer have) has no flaws (circles)in the light. My Blue and Green ones do. Don't know if it's the older body style, or the color.

What do you think of the new Strider/Buck collaberations?

    1. Yeah, I like the Hinderer designs, but this one will cost a fortune. I'd rather get a Strider

    2. Inova rules, hands down

    3. It's too much of a fantasy knife. I'm getting my second Strider karambit tomorrow. Sold the last one yesterday

    4. Yeah, I've been thinking about that one...

    5. That is a monster of a knife and I think it went for about $600

I handled the Buck/Strider Tartarini (sp?) today. You were right, that thing is a beast! Went to test drive the emerson la griffe, but it ended up being on backorder. That is a nice shop though. The on eguy was showing me that titanium "credit card" and sliced himself. He also informed me that those Comtech Stingers are commonly seen at gun shows..and guess what? There is a gun show tommorrow. Will go look for them. Then I might go to the Arnold (ahnold)Fitness Classic on Sunday and stock up on free *Garbage and Poison*.

If you want the La Griffe, call Will at Texas Tactical. He's got them on sale for 49 plus shipping. Tell him you're friends with Doug, he knows me and will hook you up.

Ahhh...I better not. Yet. 'sides there is a local guy here making kydex neck sheaths. Gonna have him make me a Stinger N/S, and a "Emerson Style" griffe sheath for the one I already have. But I will get that griffe. Let me start this new job and I'll have more money to spend on toys.

Oh, got a flyer from the knife store today, a place that has Kali and Silat classes.

I sold my old karambit, and the new one came in last night (btw, thanks for not calling) I was kinda tired today (seriously, thanks for not calling) and stayed home. This is the sweetest knife I've ever had. the handle fits in your hand perfectly.

This one goes "Ah, ____ it, go ahead and use me for evil"

Nice. I'm pissed today. I went to this gin show only to see one guy who makes the custom kydez sheaths and sells stingers, and guess who wasn't there?? If you guessed "him", you'd be correct. At least my home knife show is going ot start carrying them, and get me neck sheaths made for the stinger, and one for my S&W griffe more like the one that comes with the emerson.

There's a certain amount of confidence that comes with carrying a couple of knives with you...or five...

A couple of the local wiseguys came over to me when I got off the bus and said "Yo, you got a dollar, b1tch?"

I just mumbled "move" and walked right past them. Wtf are they going to do about it, really?

Ordered 3 Stingers today from Comtech. I like them. The more you buy, the cheaper they are, and shipping is only $5.00...whether you buy one or up to 25!!

Check the attached pic. Looks like normal pens? Nope (wouldn't be in this thread if they were. Those are the last of the Barry Jones Defensive Styus. G10 surronding a sharpend titanium core. Easily overlooked and very nasty. Read about it here.

The good news is they are the best ones out there, and a totally unnoticable weapon. The bad news is they are $75.00, and he has about 5 of them left.

Also...don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I got the 2004 Surefire catalog. They gots some NICE new toys. Many models have LED upgrades, the new "Strike Bezels" (not quite as aggressive looking as the Executive E2D), and new Digital 5-watt Luxeon LED with a 6-level brigtness adjustor...so you can scale it down to 2 lumens, or way up to 100 lumens brightness. They also have something called "turbohead" upgrades. Bigger, straighter, longer beams.

Ugh, those styli are hideous. The guy who made them should be tarred and feathered.

I just got my LaGriffe today. It's nice, not as nice as my karambit, but it would be a handy back up knife. I got a good price for it as well. What I really don't like about it is that the tip isn't needle sharp like how I like my karambits, but a trip to the Emerson shop should fix that...

I'm having a emerson-style (lagriffe) neck sheath made for my S&W badge knife. Can't wait to get my Stingers. What to test them on.....[IMG]

As for the styli being hideous...yeah, but the point is they don't look like a weapon...
