I just started a two year family plan with Verizon in January and got the LG VX5200. We're paying about $79 a month for our plan so my parents decided not to pay the extra $5.99 a month to get insurance on the phones. Well here's the deal...Last night I scratched up my phone like no other, and me being a perfectionist can't even look at it. But the problem is, I have no way of having the flip part of the phone replaced because I don't have insurance. So here's my questions...

    1. With Verizon is it possible to buy insurance on your phone after 5 months of having the service?

    2. If it isn't possible to buy insurance on your phone, is there any way of getting around paying the full retail price on a Verizon phone? The VX5200 is priced at about $180 full retail and I would hate to pay that much for a phone. Do some dealers give you a deal and sell phones for less than full retail if you already have a plan?

Any info would be truly appreciated.

    1. no, and btw insurance fraud is illegal.

    2. yes, you can get a 90$ refurb phone (lg vx3300, kyocera kx414, lg vx3200, lg vx3100) or 25% off full retail with a new 2 year agreement. or ebay, or full retail.

Is there any way of finding out online the full retail price of Verizon phones? I tried to google it and came up with nothing.

Thanks. I'll try to do that. I've never actually logged onto my account online so hopefully I can figure that out.
