I just started a two year family plan with Verizon in January and got the LG VX5200. We're paying about $79 a month for our plan so my parents decided not to pay the extra $5.99 a month to get insurance on the phones. Well here's the deal...Last night I scratched up my phone like no other, and me being a perfectionist can't even look at it. But the problem is, I have no way of having the flip part of the phone replaced because I don't have insurance. So here's my questions... 1. With Verizon is it possible to buy insurance on your phone after 5 months of having the service? 2. If it isn't possible to buy insurance on your phone, is there any way of getting around paying the full retail price on a Verizon phone? The VX5200 is priced at about $180 full retail and I would hate to pay that much for a phone. Do some dealers give you a deal and sell phones for less than full retail if you already have a plan? Any info would be truly appreciated.
1. no, and btw insurance fraud is illegal. 2. yes, you can get a 90$ refurb phone (lg vx3300, kyocera kx414, lg vx3200, lg vx3100) or 25% off full retail with a new 2 year agreement. or ebay, or full retail.
Is there any way of finding out online the full retail price of Verizon phones? I tried to google it and came up with nothing.
log into your my account and click the blue "upgrade my phone" link if you are not eligable it will show the full retail prices. if you are eligiable then there you go, cheap phone!
Thanks. I'll try to do that. I've never actually logged onto my account online so hopefully I can figure that out.
