CTIA's Largent Talks Taxes By Mark Rockwell January 28, 2005 WASHINGTON--CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent is set to appear on national network television tonight to talk about the heavy tax burden on wireless services. Largent, who has said wireless taxation is on a par with the heavy tax burden placed on cigarettes and liquor, is scheduled to appear on ABC's "20/20" program with correspondent John Stossel. The program airs at 10 p.m. EST. CTIA is working with a group of carriers to help inform state legislators about the tax burden and take a harder look at reforming state tax laws. Carrier representatives say they want to find ways to lower the tax burden so that it's more in line with other taxes. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is the same show where two of our own WA members will appear!
