Never been there, but you might want to look at Alltel in that area. Neither Verizon nor Sprint has native coverage in that area. Sprint just covers the nearby interstates and Verizon won't even sell service to that zip. I assume they both roam off the Alltel network there because Alltel has native coverage and Alltel has a good reputation for building out good networks. Plus, Alltel generally gives you more minutes for the price than the big 4 and their MyCircle plans are hard to beat. Plus, they have great coverage around New Orleans and most of Louisiana and going by your username, you are in that area frequently.
Thank you so much for the help. It does seem that Alltel may be the most helpful in that area. Yes, actually I live in New Orleans' burbs.
I used over 5000 minutes this month and traveled from NC to rural New Hampshire(950 miles). I never saw "No Service" and I didn't go over my anytime minutes at all! My Circle is hard to beat!
Easiest way to tell, somewhat, is to go to their websites and look at their coverage maps. ALL show some areas where they do not have coverage or bad coverage. There is also a lot of areas in S.W. and S.E. TX that there is NO coverage, because of big cattle ranch's, farms, state dedicated forest/parks that willl NOT allow towers to be put up.
