When will Verizon ever update their Coverage Locator for areas that aren't VZW? If you look at the Michigan coverage on the extended network roaming on Alltel it isn't nearly correct. You'd think you would be going in and out of service the whole time lol. Do they just do that to make the other companies look not as well covered, or are they just too lazy to get the info Edit: Ok wait a second, I just was looking at the data services, switched to voice, better, but still not correct.
Their recent promotional maps seem to be up to date when compared to the coverage locator... On the coverage locator, for example, they have much of eastern AL as analog only; however, on the promotional map, they have the same area as digital
Hmm, seems like it would be top priority to keep those up to date. That is what pretty much every customer looks at when deciding a carrier.
they need to make that map street level because according to there claims they send people areound in trucks with special equipment to test the signal in different areas............so why havent they come out with a street level map yet
Because in a lot of cases that data doesn't leave the engineering department that creates it. It generally means a lack of communication between the engineering, marketing and IT departments.
Maybe with the other Major carriers now having some type of street level maps, Verizon will do the same thing. Especially with the data they should have on hand. I am sure it's not as easy as it looks to do this, especially with the entire country.
Verizon relies on maps/information they get from their roaming partners and if they don't update their maps/information that Verizon has access to, Verizon doesn't know their maps are outdated.
thats understandable.....when your running a big company like that like of communication is a big issue...... and Andy its not the matter that the info is outdated its just not detailed enough
I could care less about street level maps (but I wouldn't complain if VZW offered one). As long as my service works where its supposed to work.
well it helps the people that want to be customers to know that they can check this map to see where they will be the most and if their phones will work there this way they can say "well this carrier works in 4 of the 6 places i want to go but this carrier works in 5 of the 6 important places i go" it prolli will help generate new customers because they can say that the coverage will be a sure thing not a "grope in the dark"
