Re: Lust but can't Touch I wouldn't be too jealous, especially if you value function over form. The current trend in the UK seems to be for 'fashion phones', which emphasise looks and gimmicks over features. The Sirocco, for instance, may look nice to some (personally I find a gold mobile to be rather gaudy), but it really isn't at the high-end of the scale when it comes to features. Some of the handsets in the slide show are good handsets, in terms of features, though. For example, the F700 packs in some nice features. Of course if you prefer style then you may feel that you are missing out on some of these handsets, but of course you can always buy them SIM free.
Re: Lust but can't Touch I agree with you, there. Gold cell phones look too flash, IMHO. And if it costs an arm and a leg and doesn't have a nice selection of features, what's the point?
Re: Lust but can't Touch @MOTO I believe it's all about the 'bling'. I think that's the phrase at any rate.
Re: Lust but can't Touch Fair enough. Same is true with cars. If you buy a bunch of add-ons that look sporty but don't actually do anything to make the car go faster or handle better, you've sort of missed the point. Bling, indeed.
Re: Lust but can't Touch Personally I'm not a fan of showing things off, I prefer my handset to be understated and not screaming that it cost a lot of money or some other such vulgarity. I'm like that in general though, but these 'fashion phones' one sees of late are really not my cup of tea at all. What I don't understand is why some people need a name or a brand to define their purchase. Don't misunderstand me, I have my favourite brands and shops of course, but I don't like my purchases to be plastered with names and I certainly don't like all and sundry knowing that a particular purchase is by a certain designer or from a certain shop.
