I have a couple questions about the contract end date. On my account online for ATT it says that my contract end date is 10/14/08. 1.It sounds like I'm free to goto another provider on the 14th but my instincts tell me not to or I will recieve a bill with 4 ETFS which would suck. 2. I really want to leave on the 14th because that is when my billing cyle ends so I will avoid getting my bill pro-rated which is really convienent. 3.If I should wait until the 15th to take action, I have heard that I can set up another plan with a different carrier and request to not have my numbers ported until 12:01AM on 10/15. Is this true or a myth? Thanks. PS I'm switching to Verizon because I am moving to New York and honestly, I haven't had the best of luck with ATT. No offense.
I would wait till the 15th. What Ibelieve you can do is set up the new accounts beforehand (you'll get temporray numbers) and on the 15th request that your numbers be ported in. I believe it has to be a separate request.
Hi, I'm just wondering where you are able to see the contract end date on the AT&T Wireless site. I'm looking to move away from AT&T and back to T-mobile, but I'm not sure when my contract is up.
Ack, figured it out seconds after posting this... for those who are looking, log into your account and go to "My Profile" in the top navigation, and then in the main area click the "User Information" tab. For me: "Contract end date 07/20/2009" Ouch
Did you extend your contract? You can still port to Tmobile. Of course you will have to pay the ETF, but it should be lower because AT&T started lowering the ETF the longer your into your contract. I don't know by how much it is lowered after so many months. Some who does know might be able to tell you.
I e-mailed AT&T to find out if my account is eligible for the pro-rated option, haven't heard back yet. I currently have a first generation iPhone I got in July 2007, so I did have to extend to a new 2 year contract upon activating it. I think the prorated options are only for contracts started in 2008, so I'll keep my fingers crossed...
pro rated ETF'S came into effect 25May08 for all **NEW** service agreements... any agreements prior to that date stand at the flat fee 175.00
