I guess it all depends if he wants to stick with sprint or if he already has a carrier in mind.

But yeah I get what you're saying.

I thought that the service wasn't up to him, we were to pick the device and carrier.

I thought we were just doing phones. He did say in the topic that provider wasn't important.

He just is looking for us to pick a phone, Joe will make his carrier decision from the phone choices is the way I am understanding his contest. I also thought that the carrier suggestion was in the 1st part of the contest.

Correct, please just vote for a phone regardless of the carrier(s) it implies.
I'm just trying to keep the contest theme more simple by focusing the voting on one variable.

Re: CONTEST! The Webmaster's Phone Contest Poll

I need to highlight one of the rules:

You must have 10 or more on-topic posts at the time of the drawing to be in the drawing for this contest.

I see that some people who have voted do not meet that requirement. That is OK as long as you have 10 posts at the time of the drawing, otherwise, your name doesn't get in the hat. Get your 10 posts in now, I don't want any crying about it later....:deal:

    Hi Joe,
You just mean 10 total post correct? Or do you mean 10 posts during the contest?

The Razr2 V9M from Sprint has my vote, followed by the Tilt. If AT&T provides you with decent coverage you can't go wrong either way. :)

Re: CONTEST! The Webmaster's Phone Contest Poll

I voted for the BlackBerry. I am a bit biased...but, no dreadful Windows Mobile OS to worry about. You can easily check both the WAP site and the regular site from the BB. If you go with Sprint or T-Mobile, the carrier doesn't muck up the software, so you get the phone as RIM intended.

Free PIN messages to other BB users (with a data plan). Free AIM (Sprint only), GoogleTalk, and Yahoo IM clients.

    BlackBerry is good! :)

Re: CONTEST! The Webmaster's Phone Contest Poll

I almost bought a Pearl awhile back figuring it was a non business user friendly phone, the only problem or question I have is the Blackberry connect plans. They seem a bit costly since I was told I could not connect to Media Net or send SMS or MMS unless I had a specific plan, I do agree Blackberry does have a nice lineup of phones.

With the flip of a thumb you have everything at your fingertips. You don't need to worry about small buttons, miss hitting buttons or a styls. For the business user its a must have device. Good luck in your decision.

I'm going to let it run one more week. I want to give everybody a chance to enter...too many distractions all around this week.

So, this contest will end Friday, November 30.

Just vote in the poll to enter.

Blackberry Pearl thru Sprint with EVDO and roaming on GSM, plus when the coverage sucks you have free roaming.

The Pearl doesn't have GSM roaming, only the 8830 offers that.

I know they had a blackberry that had EVDO and GSM capabilties I just figured it was the pearl. Anyways the 8800 series is still a good device being the only 3G blackberry and with the dual mode CDMA / GSM.

Yeah, I am really happy with my 8830. Had it for four months now. That's almost a record amount of time for me to keep a phone!

The only problem is lack of roaming here in the US on the GSM side with this phone.
