Thanks for the new contest!!! My sister is still deciding on what phone she wants to use the Yagi with, so we havnen't bought an adapter yet. Now about my service in the car... This is pretty much subjective. It depends on where my car/truck is... ;) Fot the most part I get pretty good signal, but there are some weak spots in the rural areas...

With T-Mobile there are two areas that I travel, where I'm unable to get any signal. Verizon and AT&T both get a signal in these areas. I travel in these areas frequently.

Hey, this is a pretty cool contest. It's a nice way to get people to snap a cell site picture. This is the perfect incentive for me to go drive down to a new T-Mobile site a few miles away.

As for the coverage. There are always places that Sprint is about a -100 dBm signlal, its unavoidable.

Many thanks for the great contest.

Any time I get out in the rural areas, reception from Sprint and roaming partners is spotty at best. It just isn't very profitable for carriers to build out in rural markets.

    Yet another great contest.

As for coverage inside of vehicles, when I go on a tour with our company, there is a stretch of road where coverage is pretty weak. Also, when we are in our bus down at the national park, we get a very weak signal. Verizon roams on Alltel down there and Sprint is right on the edge of a native signal and a roaming signal.

I need that amp bad, I travel all over MN and reception can be a real problem in the northern part of the state. Here is a picture of my town's water tower with some panels on it and a separate cell tower right next to it.

for the most part in car is good except in the extreme rural areas.

as in GA hwy 355 for instance.

but my nokia 3060 seems to work better than verizon out there, which is confusing to me.

The details on the amp says it can handle up to 8 calls at once. Does it matter if they are on difference frequencies or if they are data sessions? My goal is for myself and a customer or co-worker to be in the truck using our phones and laptop data cards at the same time.

here is a commentary from an RV'r using the product from The Escapees forums . If any one is interested
    Hi Jack -
I recently purchased the setup listed above from MaximumSignal. My previous setup was a Wilson Trucker on an expendable pole, into a direct connect amplifier. Worked fine for one cell phone, but I never really saw much difference with the EVDO card plugged in.

Because we run 2 cell phones and two EVDO cards, we needed something better. When we decided to stay in Steinhatchee, Florida, for a week, it became even more needed! I did a quick, temporary install and immediately noticed a huge difference. I put the internal antenna in about the center of the bedroom. My office is back there, so I figured more coverage back there would be better. I went from no bars to 2-3 as soon as everything was hooked up. I am about 10 feet from the internal antenna.

Angie's phone got much better too. She sits up front at the dining table, which is 15 or so feet from the internal antenna. She also went up several bars. Both her and I got comments from the people we had spoke to earlier in the week that we sounded like we weren't in the middle of nowhere anymore

We have not needed the air cards to work this week, as the park has a great Wifi signal. I did, however, plug mine in to see what the difference was. The aircard in the KR1 had much better reception with the booster plugged in than without. The card directly plugged into my laptop saw 2-3 bars improvement, up from the single stick without the booster.

I think the key is the placement of the internal antenna for full coach coverage. I am still experimenting a bit on the placement before I commit to a location. However, with the current location, I did see my neighbor yesterday standing outside the back of my coach. Seems that it is boosted a bit out back as well Maybe I will turn into a cell hotspot as well

Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. The ordering process through MaximumSignal went real smooth, and I got my equipment within two days of ordering with their normal shipping.

    Good luck -

    kevin

Well my Signal has faired well in Denver. But as someone stated earlier, there is some great info that you guy's have shared in this poll. I don't understand 50% of it, but that's better than the 25% undersatanding I had a year ago.

There isn't much signal to be found in many locations within the Santa Cruz mountains, unless you have a VZW phone (which I don't).

I agree, my Alltel phone roamed on Verizon between Santa Cruz & San Jose,
and Verizon was great the whole way on Hwy 17.
My friend's MetroPCS & Sprint phone would always drop near the top of the summit
near the Santa Clara / Santa Cruz County line.

    ___________________________________

Here in Gaffney, Alltel, Verizon & AT&T are the top choices,
Sprint & Suncom are spotty unless you're within 2 miles of I-85.

We get some bad service in an area between lusk wyoming and Mule Creek Junction. But otherwise we travel in good areas. Though that one spot across nebraska... But only on the road trips.

Just took a picture of a cell site today, go figure. Still not good enough to know much about them, but did find the website with some additinal tower information on it.
