Im thinking of buying an LG lotus from sprint, but from what i can see im not covered in my area, only roaming. In the plan im getting it says no roaming charges, so does that mean i can still use my phone or what?
You can most likely use your phone. However, many wireless carriers will threaten to disconnect you if you spend too much of your time with roaming service rather than with home carrier service.
Well, also, you would have to live in a Sprint covered area in order to sign up for service. If you do not, they probably won't sign you up unless somebody else you know who lives in a Sprint area signs you up. But also, you would be roaming constantly and if you consistantly roam, Sprint will probably terminate you.
If they are willing to sell you a phone and service you might be in a Sprint covered area. You can't always go by what is shown on the maps. But if you don't get Sprint native service where you will be using your phone the most I would look for another carrier.
I'm sure they will let you sign up for service... But, like everyone else is saying, if you aren't going to be using your phone in a Sprint area and you'll be roaming a lot, you are probably better off just going with another carrier. Also the Music store, Location Based Services (GPS), Ready Link, and Data Link may not be available in roaming areas.
