So I went to the T-Mobile website to configure my new RAZR phone for pic messaging and my phone will not update the settings. It keeps telling me "limit exceeded MMS has not been updated". Dose anyone know how to get around this? I update the T-zones & web settings with no problems. But really what is the point of having a pic phone if you can't send or recieve pics?
I know t-mobile has the info to change it manually but I am not sure how to do that or even where in the phone I would have to go to do it. T-mobile will not help me any further since I did not buy the phone from them and Motorola tells me I have to go back to T-Mobile. . . Please someone help.

Just updating that after I fought most of the night with my phone. . . tired to enter the configs manually with no luck (after getting it all set up it told me the site was not found) I deicded to give T-Mobile another shot and played the I don't know where the phone was bought I got it as a gift. I was on the phone with them for a little over an hour and now I have to wait for a "teir 3 tech" person to call me back tomorrow since everything is set up correctly (as far as the tech I was talking to can see) so this other person is suppose to specialize in setting up phones that are not made for T-Mobile. I am hoping that works but really what it is coming down to is I wish I just paid the extra money and bought one straight from them. I guess I under estimated how difficult it would be to get it working properly.
If I get a call back tomorrow and if I get it working I will let you all know.

you might have to update the phone's firmware with a monsterpack or flex file.

Those flex files/monsterpacks are available at motomodders.net which is free to join.

I just wanted to say thank you very much to MOTOhooligan for his post.

I just got a new unlocked RAZR v3 today and could not find any clear instructions anywhere on how to get the T-Zones and MMS stuff set up propertly.

Your post was very helpful. Thanks!

Been trying for two days to configure my razr v3 from T-Mobile for mms & web. So I googled for "configure mms for razr v3" and found this site. Changed the settings as described and now everything works!!!!!! Thanks so much for the info ;)

I changed all of my settings, but I bought an AT&T phone. I have a T-mobile plan though. Am I #@%$#@!? It looks like the edge network still shows up. What happens if I use my phone?

It won't make any difference. You can still make calls and do what you'd normally do with a phone. The settings adjustment are only if you want access to T-Zones (or whatever they call it now), to send text messages, and access the Internet.

EDGE showing up doesn't make any difference or harm anything. AT&T phones won't have T-Mobile's 3G frequency (1700mhz) on any of their branded phones, so EDGE is all you'd get anyway.

Thanks. I was worried that since it turns on as an AT&T phone, that I'd be charged roaming from T-mobile.

    Go Manny!

Your phone is AT&T, not your service. You're fine, no need to worry. Roaming doesn't work the way you were thinking.

If you saw "AT&T" in your display, instead of T-Mobile, then you would be roaming (and only if T-Mobile has a roaming agreement with AT&T in your area).

sorry. lastly, I reconfigured my phone and I can't send/receive text messages. I changed my settings to:

    Service Name: T-Zones MMS
    Server Name:http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
    Web Session Name:T-Zones

I wasn't able to write T-Zones MMS case sensitively, but outside of that, I'm out of options.

As for the text messaging problem above, some people are suggesting I return to my medianet config. I haven't tried it because I don't think it'll work.

Not sure if you've tried this yet, but if all else fails, give T-Mobile CS a call. I did this very same thing years ago when I had an unlocked/unbranded RAZR I wanted to configure to T-Mo. They helped me out without any problem. I don't believe they've changed this policy.

I remember them telling me they'll help people get other phones (than the ones they sell) working on their network as a customer service. After all you are using their network. Though I'm sure they'd prefer people buy phones from them directly, they know GSM allows for easy swapping with unlocked phones, something they acknowledge instead of pretending it doesn't exist.
