Dumb Cingular NY Ad Cingular's running an ad in the New York area that has a guy on a cell phone getting directions on how to get somewhere on the subway. The directions are really complicated so after he hangs up, the guy hails a taxi. It's kinda funny but also kinda clueless because it makes Cingular look like an outsider. New Yorkers know how to navigate the subway system. The only people who are confused by it are non-residents. Why would a company that's entering a new market run an ad that highlights the fact that it doesn't have a clue about the people in the market? Cingular also has a subway ad that features a subway token with a solid center, even though tokens have had a hollowed out center for like a decade. It's a small but telling detail. It's pretty clear Cingular's ad agency isn't based in New York.
actually cingular owns this company... http://www.atmosphere.net/company/index.html check out where they're located
Atmosphere is one of those "smoke and mirrors" company that no matter how much you read about them you don't know what the hell they do.
