Simple question: Cingular or Verizon in Teaneck N.J.? Please share experiences. I am currently on Cingular but it seems like everyone in Teaneck is on Verizon and loves it! I never go a day without at least one or two dropped calls. Also, the number of bars fluctuate constantly.

Additionally, what is known about Cingular and Verizon reception on the Columbia/Barnard campus and on the NYU campus?

I would say try Verizon for 15 days. You can't go wrong with them in NJ.

My vote is for Verizon but in all honesty you might want to hold off till you get to school. One friend discovered much to here dismay that in her room Nextel and only Nextel worked.

If you're not satisfied with what you currently have, then try out Verizon for their 15 day trial, but wait before you cancel your old service. If Verizon works out then cancel your old service or port your number over.
