Cingular to Add 130 new cell sites - TX

    DALLAS and SAN ANTONIO, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless, the
    nation's largest wireless carrier, plans to invest $346 million in its
    Texas network in 2006, bringing customers even more wireless services,
    enhanced call quality and coverage.
    This year's investment in Texas includes $190 million in North, East,
    West Texas and the Panhandle; while $156 million will be spent in the South
    Texas region, which includes the Rio Grande Valley.
    The 2006 investment in Cingular's Texas network will bring almost 130
    new cell sites high-speed data services, the addition of portable and
    permanent generators, and other enhancements to Cingular's ALLOVER(TM)*
    Network, which is the nation's largest all-digital voice and data network.

    Hi, new to the site but just had to reply to your optomistic posting for Cingular.
    We live in west Texas have used cingular since 1999. Initiated our account in Abilene; across five businesses which, we own. Just got a letter from cingular as have many in our tri county area which stated they were dumping us due to our "out of network" use. Contacted our cingular rep and found out that regardless of term, Cingular was canceling everyone not in the immediate areas of Abilene: Jones, Callahan & Taylor Counties. You can bet AlTell is happy!
    Heard anything about that???

    Yeah I don't like Cingular much either, but Jones does, he periodically posts press releases. You'll find people on here that like to cheer on their phone company, I try to be objective but find myself being an Alltel cheerboy often.....
