Cingular sues T-Mobile over advertisement Bloomberg News Cingular Wireless is suing T-Mobile USA over its advertising claim that it has the fewest dropped calls. In the suit, filed Wednesday in Atlanta, Cingular says T-Mobile is violating false-advertising laws. Cingular says an independent study of more than 300 markets, which include about eight in 10 U.S. residents, shows that Cingular had the fewest dropped calls. http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/business/15862707.htm
Not only that, but they can also claim they have the fewest typos! Who's number 2? Check it out before they fix it: http://www.t-mobile.com/promotions/....mc_n=GeoCoverageMiami_External&WT.mc_t=Other

It's possible in Miami they are tied on the fewest dropped calls vs other parts of the country. I haven't seen where they showed them tied with Cingular yet or any other carrier.
We have the fewest dropped calls! No we have the fewest dropped calls! No, WE have the fewest dropped calls! Seriously, it's us, check out this independent study. We have an even more independent study! Nuh-uh! Yuh-huh! Your advertising is deceptive! No, your advertising is deceptive! We're gonna sue you! Nuh-uh! We're gonna sue you first!
I understand there can be a tie, but what about #2? Someone has to be #2 regardless of who's tied. So I call this a typo! Unless they did it on purpose to make Cingular look so bad that they are really #3 and nobody at #2. LOL!
Being third means that you have the third best result of all competitors. It does not mean that you have the third best "result level" which each can be populated by an arbitrary number of competitors. Both Verizon and T-Mobile are apparently better than Cingular, so of course Cingular is third, not second. This is the usual thing to do, eg also in sports: if two athlets are tied for number one, the next one is third, since he is third best.
No, that's not true. If two competitors tie for a spot, it is customary to not award the level below. Happens in sports, especially the olympics. When two people tie for a gold, they award 2 golds and a bronze. No silver is awarded. When 2 people tie for the silver, no bronze is awarded. There is no mistake there if T-Mobile and VZW tied. Heck, if Verizon and Cingular tie for the number of subscribers at some point, you don't call Sprint the 2nd biggest wireless company. They are still 3rd.
If this happens I'll never get service again! They're the only company that get's signal at my house in the middle of B.F.E. ~*Ash*~
I am really hoping that the results of the studies for both carriers become public record to see the true scope of them, including other carriers results vs both of them.
