Cingular Prepaid is actually different in their GSM (DCS) areas... We have 2 different plans where one is unlimited weekends... weekends starting at 7pm on Friday and going til 7am on Monday... that's $1 per day access charge, $0.30 daytime, and $0.15 long distance.... the Nights/weekends rate is $0.30 daytime, $0.10 N/W starting at 9pm, free CID & VM.. Unlimited Weekends package only includes CID... 500 messages is $0.25/day, which gives you 500 messages to use in 30 days. For $0.30/day you can get VM + text messaging. As I recall, they've been this way forever around here, so I dunno if they plan on changing it anytime soon... Also both the Nokia 3395 and the Ericsson R300z are $99.99 with a $30 airtime card included. [IMG]

The unlimited plan would get rather expensive. The anytime thing is a better value I think, but I'll still take freeup.

The Virgin prepaid seems ok, I got that Kryocera(sp?) phone with the blue screen. I gotta go with the company that uses Sprints guts [IMG]

The Best Buy phone rep was telling me that the new Nextell (forgot the name) rpepaid is decent. they have a color phone too. MIght be a good deal if you know people who use Nextell. The 2wat feature is avail. for 1 buck a day on the prepaid.

I think Prepaid should be cheap. Period. I use it because it is cheap. I know some people use it because of credit problems but in my opinion they shouldn't be spending alot of money on cell phones anyway. Prepay should be cheaper if you use it very little, which currently I think Freeup is the best deal w/ Verizon. Virgin is OK, but they really need nite and weekend minutes to be cheaper, heck Freeup gives me free weekend minutes. I dunno, just wanted to rant since I saw Nextel's prepay is obiously going to be expensive.
