Cingular Outage in VA/MD/DC?

    Is anyone else experiencing a service disruption right now in the area?

    My phone will not make/receive calls or text messages.... called Cingular last night and they said they were having a moderate outage in the area.

    ...Woke up this morning and I still can't do squat with my service... gives a "no circuit channel available" error message.

    ...Talked with a few friends on IM this morning and they said their service was out as well.

    Well I've been around campus today and have heard a lot of people discussing the mystery outage last night. Apparently it affected almost every Cingular customer last night for about three-four hours in northern virginia, more specifically fairfax, burke, vienna, springfield, and arlington. It's over now tho...

    I've been on the phone most of the day, and I was on the phone for over an hour in the middle of the night last night talking to someone in Canada. I've experienced no problems with calls or text. I just can't get my darn internet working right, but I think that's an unrelated issue. When I was on the phone w/ 611 today trying to get the internet working on my A845 today the rep did check for any reported outages in my area and said there were none.

    I know my data use (email, IM, browsing) was randomly out over the last few days...doesn't matter if it was EDGE or 3G....it would not work.

    First such problem I have had in the 6+ years I have had my ATT/Cingular phone.

    No where near the issues I would get on Nextel, Sprint and T-Mo.

    Didn't affect me. None of my service was interrupted up here in MD.
