FYI...Cingular has quietly updated their IRDB within the last 2 days....it now appears as:

    2 1
    2 4
    0 73

Also, the band order has changed....its now aEDBAFb.

The most significant change is that roaming is now allowed on AT&T's Atlanta system. This is huge, as it allows digital coverage in most of Coweta County and the Newnan area. And - if you are on Cingular Preferred...your phone will read Cingular which means your plan minutes are good in this area.

One downside...when you power your phone on, it will take a second or two longer to register...it will search all the bands before locking onto "b"...but its more annoying then anything else.

Parthery, I'll confirm the band order is the same here in Memphis. The 06 DEBUG screen with version shows:
    2 4
    2 1
0 73 I see that we have different mode Nokias.

I must be old-fashioned, I prefer non-proportional, i.e. monospaced fonts. Or because I learned typing on a typewriter (manual).

In Little Rock, my IRDB on my 8260 hasn't changed (I have the old National 2000/3500 plan):

    2 12
    2 2
    0 62

band order is the same too: aEDFABb

My 5165 on the preferred nation plan HAS changed, however:

    3 0
    6 16
    0 56

Band order has NOT changed: aEDFABbC

Forgive my inability to type...our IRDBs are the same.

Not sure why some people get the "C" band and some don't...maybe it has to do with the rate plan? Especially since a number of Telecorp markets (now ATTWS) operate on the C block.

There are currently 3 Band orders in use by Cingular in the Dallas area, and depending on which part of the country, various IRDB lists. Cingular is currently trying to consolidate IRDB lists, as the systems are now better able to send over a larger list to the phones.
"C" band is currently added only on the Prefered Nationwide IRDB's

There has always been digital coverage in Newnan (ever since InterCel turned up digital anyway [IMG] ), just on PSC instead of AT&T, and all of PSC has always been in Nation Preferred. The main advantage for Atlanta customers to roaming on AT&T is that text messaging should work now (it worked for AT&T customers on Cingular but not PSC when PSC was in AT&T's IRDB.)

Didn't Cingular unblock SID 4158 (AT&T/former Telecorp Tennessee) recently to "fix" Knoxville? Cingular's NP map shows Knoxville as ROAMING on NP plans! [IMG]

Home rate plans and the newer Prefered Nationwide plans have different IRDB's

And I can read them because i'm one of the many who send them out over the air.

Canuhearmenow....if you have a Nokia TDMA phone you can read the codes...but not the SIDS...by placing it in testmode and looking at screen #5 for the band order and screen #6 for the IRDB codes.

If you have an Ericsson T60 or comparable...you can put the phone in test mode (904090 <rt arrow><rt arrow&gt[IMG] and actually see the SIDS in the IRDB.

Knoxville is only roaming if you have a TDMA-only phone, from what I can gather... a GAIT phone would allow you to use Cingular GSM here and not get roaming fees. [IMG]

I checked out my grandparents Cingular phone from Mobile today and they have the same IRDB and band order, I doubt it really unlocked any carriers. You probably still roam on Alltel in SE Alabama rather than Unicel or Cellular One. I know Cellular One is still forbidden. It looks like most of the changes is that AT&T is now a favored SOC rather than listing specific AT&T SIDS to roam on. But it is about time Cingular got smart and made their phones A band preferred.! Considering 80 % of all TDMA systems are A band anyhow. Too bad for me I ditched Cingular 2 months ago to get Cellular One so I could be apart of Verizon which seems oh so far away. I got rid of Cingular because I got tired of roaming analog on Alltel when i went into SE Alabama. Now with Cellular Ones IRDBs they have since Verizon is footing the bill. Im analog in 85% of the US roaming on Alltel and Verizons analog networks anywhere it exists [IMG] and AT&T is favored but strictly for backup purposes only!

    My Band Order is aEDFABb

I recently noticed the increment in forbidden SIDs. It used to be 59, now 61.

    3    10
    4     2
    0     61
