Well, if Cingular kept the TDMA prepay and met the terms of the lawsuit, they need to add 2.5 cents per minute for the royality payment on top of the current charges. They should pass that on to TDMA customers (plus the $148Million). So if they keep TDMA prepay (until TDMA is turned off)and also offer the GSM Go phone, and offer the Go phone plans at a better price, customers would naturally switch on their own. This is what I did when moving from plans with Cingular over the years. Each new Cingular plan was more minutes for less or the same money. That pricing strategy finally moved me over to all GSM plans from GAIT. I think even pre pay people would prefer newer, modern phones. What is the entry fee for Go phone, $49? People will probably move on their own over the next year. And BTW, the KIC coverage, when my daughter had it, was horrible compared to the pre pay GSM coverage.
