That's the rumor on HoFo - as of June 1, #TXT# (#898#) will give you your text message usage information, similar to #MIN# (#646#) and #BAL# (#225#)

Cool. I've been wondering if they were going to do that... you'd think it would be easier than #BAL# and #MIN# but maybe not.

Saw another report on HoFo today that should confirm this.

Sweet action. I can't wait. I don't usually go over my minutes but I have gone over my SMS bucket occasionally.

For those who pay per-message for SMS (.05/msg both ways), would #TXT# also work?

I don't know. The mytmobile website does show those though since my wife doesn't have a text plan....so she just PAYG for SMS. In the "unbilled overages not part of your plan" section we have 10 cent charge so far this month so I know she has sent 2 SMS (we still get 50 incoming free since we are on an old plan).

It's supposed to look like this:

    Date of last received SMS
    Used amount
    Remaining amount
    Additional (overage)
Bonus SMS used & available (if any)
    Bill Close Date

Confirmed, it's working in the Boston area. Because I do not have text messaging added on as an extra monthly fee, my Used and Remaining show 0 (zero), with the total message count listed under Additional.

#TXT# on T-Mobile To Go results in a "Request not completed" error, so it does not work with prepay accounts.

    Mine is

    As of
    05-27 01:15 PM

    TXT
    Used: 1
    Remaining: 300

    Bill Close: 06/26

Weird....it is 11:53 AM and it says it is 1:15PM

Anyhow...it may be different for me, as I am on a business account. I think we each get 300 TXT's.....so, if I used 1, I should have 299 left? :headscrat

Hey Aaron, both of our cycles end on the 22nd
And my old Cingular billing cycle used to end on 23rd...

And I don't know what's wrong with yours, Shizam. Apparently T-Mobile is still learning their math skills :p.

Yeah, no doubt... that's weird. Does your business account have subs in different states (ie Time Zones?)

This service stopped working in the Boston area the other day. I now receive a message that the #898# service is not available to everyone at this time.

I'll call Tech Support on my break and see what they say. I can't believe there is a network-wide issue with this. Maybe they launched it too soon? Maybe it was a test for specific markets and wasn't supposed to be for everyone? I don't know but what I do know is I don't go over my minutes, I go over my SMS so I really want to be able to check my SMS balance from my handset!

I pay per-message on my service, but #898# would be nice to have, at least it indicates how many messages were sent/received.

Mine's not working either, I get a message that says, "#898# feature is currently not available to everyone" Worked just fine before.

T-Mobile customer service says that #898# should be working by the end of June/beginning of July. I guess they rolled it out to early.

Yes, it wasn't quite ready for the roll out, and the info you have matches what I have.

Do you think maybe it was for testing, and T-Mobile decided not to roll it out after all?

No, just some problems. My readouts changed a few times (family plan) but were never 100% correct. I haven't heard anything about it but I would assume it will be out this summer.
