    Hi,

Were in the US for two years and we are looking for the cheapest provider in the San Diego area. We're currently on T-mobile pay as you go. We don't use lots of minutes, but were wondering if any of the regional providors in Southern California were cheaper for pay as you go

T Mobile are pretty cheap, but you have to put a lot of cash on your phone to get it cheap and we would rather put smaller amounts on and still get a cheap per minute rate.

90% of our calls are between two mobiles if that helps in working out who would be cheaper.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    MS

Well if you want "cheap", there is Cricket, and also Virgin Mobile.

Other than that, the better of the major carrier prepaid plans is AT&T. Their pay as you go plans are either .25 cents a minute anytime OR .10 cents a minute with unlimited mobile to mobile for $1.00 a day. The $1.00 charge occurs ONLY on the days you use your phone. Nationwide long distance and rollover are available on both (rollover applies if you add more money before your expiration date).

With T-Mobile (Gold Rewards), your calls are always .10/min. No other prepaid can match that. Putting in $100 at a time at the beginning is still a bargain, then as your approach the time you will be leaving, you can put in smaller amounts. The only services that would be cheaper per refill would be at least twice as much per minute.
