Changing wireless number

    Does anyone know how to change a cingular go phone wireless number? I need to change due to harassing threating phone calls/texts..

  2. I would call customer service, which is probably 611, or *611 and a free call from your phone. Be sure to stress to them that its because of threatening/harrasing calls and texts so that you're not charged a fee.

    I called Cingular and told the rep (who didnt speak very good english) that I wanted to change my wireless number due to harassing/threating phone calls and she told me it would be $36!!! I told her I didnt want to pay that much to have it changed!! That's outrageous to even charge for a number change.

    It's their standard activation free, since basically they'll be discontinuing your old line and starting a new line.

  5. that's crazy. maybe if you call and talk to the right rep and explain your situation they can do it for a discounted price if anything.

    geez, i got my number changed at us cellular last week and they didn't charge me anything.

    Being that it's a go phone, maybe you could just get a new service and cancel the old one -- unless you have high balance you don't want to lose.
