I'm thinking this is a quite easy question but it is bugging the heck out of me. Is there a way to change the wallpaper on the front of the phone, the caller id window, of a Verizon Razr v3m phone? All of my other phones were able to do so, but for some reason I can not find an option for it. Hoping someone can help me!
Unfortunately, on the RAZR's (No matter which carrier they're for), there is no way to have a different picture on the outer display than what is on the main display. It's a Motorola thing. Verizon RAZR's probably have their UI crap on the outer display, keeping any picture from displaying. Several Nokia's and some LG's have the ability to have different pictures on each display. Hope this helps.
My finacee has a Razr from Cingular and his caller id screen shows up with the same camera picture as his wallpaper inside the phone.
From what I remeber, Verizon's user interface prevents any picture from showing up on the outer display. Cingular and T-Mobile have the Motorola UI which shows the wallpaper on the inner display on the outer as well. This is the one drawback of Verizon's V3m.
You can hack the V3m to display the main screen's wallpaper on the little external screen. It's so small that you can hardly tell but it is kinda neat...anything is better than the default. Also, you can change it to not show the Verizon logo on the external when you open the phone up.
You'll need the mini USB cable to hook up the phone to the computer and a couple of programs...it's actually quite easy if you can follow directions. Check out this site: http://www.hacktherazr.com/guides.html What you wanna do is under "unbranding". Each set of directions tells you what programs you'll need and how to find them. Wow...I would have thought this would be common knowledge on this board by now...
