I am guessing this a repetitive question but I haven't necessarily found the answer to what I'm looking for, but my situation is that I use a Titanium Voyager with X number of minutes and the $10 text plan, but I also use the Mobile Email app for it's initial $5 cost and whatever usages I incur (no VCast package). A friend just upgraded his Pearl to a Storm, and I want to switch to the Pearl because I really dislike the Voyager being in my pocket making it look like I'm happy to see someone (it's huge). I would like to just switch over to the Pearl without stepping up to the Blackberry plan, and I've heard of several situations where people have done this. My research in this forum is mixed - some say the phone pings Verizon constantly and "if you get caught" - stuff like that. The Voyager is fine for how I use it, I just dislike the size and would like to get the smaller phone (not phone upgrade eligible until May 2010). Possible? Or just give the Pearl back? Thanks for any assistance in advance.
You don't have to get the blackberry plan, just tell them you don't want it. but you probably can't get e-mail without the blackberry plan.
I have a similar situation. I'm thinking of switching from the Voyager to the Blackberry Curve. My question is: Would it be counted as renewal of contract if I take the phone to a Verizon store, have them switch it over from the Voyager to the Curve and add a data package (email and messaging) to that number (it's a family plan and I would be the only one using a Smartphone/Blackberry so I would be the only line needing the data package)? Would I be charged with any extra fees for doing this? I currently have a voice and text message plan on the Voyager, would this transfer over to the Blackberry? If so, then would I only need the 49.99 plan of unlimited internet and email access in addition to the voice and text message plan I'd be transferring from the Voyager? Just trying to make sense of it all, any help would be appreciated.
