    Hi,
I have a blackberry from tmobile from my dad who switched to verizon recently, I
would like to know if I can bring in my dad's old blackberry to verizon so I can use it as my
new phone even though it was from tmobile when i have verizon service. I also want to know if I can use his blackberry with my existing phone plan. I don't want to have the data plan, I want
to stay with my parents family plan and just use the phone for phone calls and
texting.. NO DATA Is that possible? Thanks!!
if it is possible can i switch phones online?

The short answer is no. Verizon and T-Mobile use different network technologies which are incompatible with each other. Verizon is CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM.

You could use your Blackberry with AT&T, providing it is unlocked (which means it is open to be used with any GSM carrier).

You can just get a Verizon Blackberry, No need to unlock it. Unlocking CDMA phones is pointless, since it's like pulling teeth to get them to work on other CDMA carriers, such as a Verizon phone on Sprint. It's more trouble than it's worth.

No. As I said before, AT&T and T-Mobile use a different network technology than Verizon. So you cannot use an AT&T phone on Verizon, or vice versa.

Also, if you choose to get a Verizon BlackBerry, a data plan will be required. Verizon will not allow you to get a BB and not have at least $30 data plan.
