We are definetly "less commercially developed" here. We'd love to see more stores and such cause shopping is rather limited here but other than that we love it here. Not too much crime, nothing compared to how it is up in the states, hell even oahu is totally different from here..lol..we call oahu the "little mainland" lol.. and yes this thread went totally off the subject here im sure we're gonna get in trouble. Oh wait Airb is a mod..lol..anyway do come back to the islands guys, enjoy our beautiful weather and our beautiful sites. [IMG]

Funny how all the places I have visited and liked the best seem "isolated" and less commercial...Kauai, Alaska, Wales, Turks and Caicos, Belize, even Ethiopia!

Back to the topic at hand, I called Verizon just out of curiosity and the rep I spoke with said she would change my number for free if I was receiving harrassing or annoying phone calls. In fact she was just about ready to do it until I said I was just asking for a friend! Yikes!!

Hi all, i just got off the phone with my friend and she was PISSED...lmao..she had called Verizon and asked them about the number change, she said she was speaking to a guy, anyway he told her that she should close her account and reopen it with another number! Now why in the world would he tell her that? She told him that would'nt be necessary cause she still wants her account and she just wanted her number changed! He still said to close it and reopen, she could'nt understand his logic in that so told him nevermind and hung up..lmao..Was he giving her his own phone number for christ sakes..lol..i think having your teeth pulled would have been easier then what she went through. I told her to call again but she is too pissed yet and said forget it..lol..Go figure eh? I hope i never need my number changed..hehehe [IMG][IMG][IMG]

That's just nuts. at the very least, she could just add a line to her account and then cancel the phone number she wants to change and get them to waive whatever termination fee. That would basically be the same as changing the phone number. Still, since Verizon's account numbers are very different from your actual cell number, there is no reason she should have to close an account and open a new one.

Exactly Matt!! I just don't get it myself..lol..i mean sheesh you called and the woman offered to change it for you no problems what so ever, she calls and that cartoon wants her to close her account, reopen it and then get another number. Would'nt just changing the number be easier? Perhaps he is a new guy or something cause i've never heard of having to close your account just to have your number changed!

Actually, knowing the way computers work, I could see how it might be easier to close an account and open a new one rather than making a phone number change. I used to work for American Airlines, and there was no call more dreaded than the change of reservation...much much harder than a new res. Plus, the cusotmer usually got irate when you explained the change fees and any fare increase [IMG]

Verizon changed my number when I called cs an complained about my bill being so high because
they gave me a number out of my zone, which didn't make sense so I called an said why did they
give me that number anyway when I should have been given a local number? changed immediately
an was not charged. probably has to do with the person that you are dealing with at the time.
