    Cellular One Puts Its Network on “Fast Track”;
    Wireless Provider Aggressively Expanding Service Nationwide

    (OKLAHOMA CITY) – Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems – the largest independent provider of wireless service to rural America – today said its “2007 Network Fast Track” plan will expand its coverage for thousands of the customers it serves.

    Under the strategic plan developed and implemented by Cellular One’s Network Quality Assurance Team, by end of the second quarter the company will turn on 75% of its new cell sites that it will build this year.

    “Fast Track gives us the ability to hit the ground running in 2007,” said Timothy J. Duffy, Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President. “We will add as many new cell sites in six months as we would have added in nine months. The result is better coverage, fewer dropped calls, increased capacity and an overall enhanced wireless experience sooner for our customers.”

    Cellular One, which operates state-of-the-art GSM/GPRS/EDGE voice and data networks in 17 states, plans to build approximately 300 new cell sites this year, he said.

    “Expanding our network is essential to our continued high level of customer satisfaction,” Duffy said. “We have been very aggressive in the past but this plan signals our commitment to delivering the highest quality wireless service to our customers as quick as possible”.

    And thats why they have us building new sites in the winter. I turned up one 2 months ago in 10 degree weather with 2 foot of snow on the ground. They under estimated the article. We build year round because some sites take longer due to leasing or tower structural issues. So its acutally trying to squeeze a years worth of tower builds into 6 months. All I can say thank god spring is here.

    We have been told over and over here in wisconsin that cellone is getting better. We have so many drop calls it is total worthless. We can't use our cell phones at home no-way. My work phone is Verizon......all bars all the time. We travel to the state of Wyoming twice a year, wow good luck with cellone it stinks! Period. Nope your cellularone provider in NW wisconson is bad, very very bad. Sure maybe in a big city cellular one is great but they advertise RURAL!!!!!!!!! Jokes on us!!!!!

    Thats to bad you are experiencing that. Is your phone a TDMA or GSM phone. Where about are you at in WI. In Wyoming your not on Cell one your roaming on Alltel (GSM) or probably Verizon if your TDMA. Im in Michigan but I can look up what Cell One towers are near you if you like.

    My Cellularone service is gsm. And my location is cushing, Wi.
    As far as on roaming while in Wyoming, this maybe true. However
    I always had the signal prior to this GSM stuff.

    You will be roaming on Alltel in Wyoming. Alltel bought out Western Wireless which used to use the Cell One name as well. Before Alltel had bought Western Wireless they had started putting GSM at some but not all of their towers. So there is GSM out there but not every tower that they own. You would of had better coverage before GSM because of Analog. Your old phone would have went in to Analog mode and roamed on Western Wireless or Verizon.

    I cant speak for what Cell One has in WI, but I will see if I can look up what towers you have in your area. Just remember not every carrier can be perfect at all times. Some times one company may have a tower closer that the other. Cell one does focus mainly on rural areas as the big guys normal focus on the bigger towns and cities. I live in northen Michigan so I know where your comming from when talking about not having signal out in the boonies. It is hard to cover some of these areas because of the terrain up here.

    Next time I get a chance Ill take a look and see whats over your way.

    I looked alittle bit, the only map I can find shows one north of cushing and one south of you by HWY 8. The map is very vague and It doesnt show and adress and doesnt show the names of towns. I wish I could tell you more, Im not to familiar with the WI area.

    Sounds like their "fast track" plans for expansion were to be bought out by AT&T.
