I called this morning to get a line in Cellular one and they told me that i need to pay $10 more to activate my phone

A friend got his phone last week and paid $25 in activation fees.

Is it just me that has bad luck with extra fees?

I don't think the increase went into effect yet. Who did you call? Did you activate?

I'd try to see what you can do, to get that down. Remember at the end of it they want customers and with most carriers (I don't know CellOne specifically, I had no activation fee with a promo); the activation fee is the one thing that IS negotiable.

Am I the only one who finds it really odd that there are a handful of people on here asking/complaining about an activation fee increase (that only affects new customers) on a minor local carrier in Montana?

One, sure, I understand that, but all of the brand new posters coming out of the woodwork to complain or ask about this fee is just... really strange. No offense to any of you but um, just subscribe and make it happen. If you'd subscribed a couple months ago, Cellular One would have paid you $200 to activate, so point that out any maybe you'll at least get the fee waived...

No no you're not odd - just the fact there were several people at once is interesting. Afterall, there's almost no one from Montana and even at the Cellular One is not a major carrier LOL.

Yes through about Christmas, Cellular One was PAYING $200 for a new activation. My uncle got $600 for activating three lines!
