Here's a website I discovered that will help locate and identify Tmobile towers.
    Tmobile Towers

It is far from complete as it will only list T-mobile towers that are available for co-location. But it does give you all the info, Addy/Lat/Long/Height/site ID/ect.

I found on the list several of the towers I had already posted so I was able to fill in more info on them than I had before.

EDIT: However, two of the towers I found less than a mile apart are both on the list, and I'm pretty sure Tmobile isn't on both of them. So I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Sprint is definitely ahead of most wireless networks by providing such detailed info. Here in Europe, some countries are required to list the exact tower location on maps and let people see whose tower it is.

This is the case in the UK. Here in Germany, the RegTP (Regulierungsbehörde für Telekommunikation und Post/Telecommunications and Postal Authority) only gives approximate locations.

Is there a web site out there to look at all towers in an area? I had used the berkana site before, but it doesn't seem to be working any longer.

    try this one :) http://www.cellreception.com/towers/index.html

It's basically using the Google Maps API coupled with data from the FCC site. Pretty neat stuff. It tells who owns the cell site but doesn't necessarily tell what carriers are on the tower.

Thanks that is quite a site, the most current I have ever used. It shows a tower in my local, which is very rural that hasn't been installed yet.

I was by the site yesterday and all that is there are the survey stakes!!

Wish it was the same for my area. There is an old site that is not listed there, and a new T-Mobile site that also is not listed.

I wonder how long it will be before somone actually makes a tool you can use to detect which towers are whos and what not. Unless this is already out.

  10. If it is, it's certainly hard to find, becuase i've tried! lol. There's something on the FCC that tells you something like that but its kind of hard to use IMO. I found the link somewhere on here... its been a few months ago though.

I wonder why the tower in my town isnt registered with the FCC. Is that strange?

I don't think so because not every tower has to be registered with the FCC. IF every tower was registered with the FCC, we wouldn't have a problem going through their database and finding every tower in a given area.

True, the FCC doesn't have every tower and have no rooftop sites. See www.towermaps.com/fcc.htm for more info.

Hey guys, theres a site called www.antennasearch.com that seems to give all the locations of towers and antennas in the US. Looking at the faq, it says that that it detects towers, antennas, and future towers. It gives the ownership details too.

It costs thought to get a report, but it may help, its 10 dollars for a report, and 15 dolars for unlimited.

    hope this helps,

Maybe if we all chip $1 into an account, we could get an unlimited deal.

Tower Maps by our fellow member David Ward is going to be one of the most comprehensive listings you will find. He works with the tower owners and the FCC database to provide a very well done application.

I have been familiar with/using it since probably 2000 or so.

Where exactly will I find that listing? I see mostly sample data which allows you to get a preview of the database.

If you're referring to Tower Maps, it is a pay service. Of course, you can stick with the free stuff...but you get what you pay for.
