    For our east coast members....

    Did you feel the earthquake?
    Where were you?
Did you try using your cell phone for calling, text or data?

(West coast people....feel free to laugh at us! :lmao: )

I was on the home computer in coastal NJ. My monitors and desk lamp swayed a bit, not to alarming.
I send and rec'd a text a few minutes after the quake.

    Hahahaha, a 5.8. :p

Although it looks like you have a hurricane headed your way for the weekend. I promise not to laugh then.

I never felt a thing, and these tremors were supposedly where I work and live. I did not make any calls at the time, but text messages seemed to be ok.
As for Irene, it will be nothing but a rainy weekend for us.

Didn't feel a thing in upper Manhattan other than the usual nonsense. However, right at that time I had noticed that I had absolutely no data service for a while. Not 4G, not 3G, not even 1x. Lasted for only a few minutes.

I didn't immediately reach for my cell phone, so I don't know if I would have been able to make a call. I had heard from customers that they had difficulty in making calls on their phones. My dad texted me not long after the quake, but I'm not sure if it was because he could not call me.

I felt the quake, felt like standing on a train platform while a freight train blew by you at 80 MPH.
