I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I tend to stick my Ipod (w/Transmitter) and Cell phone in my car cup holders (side by side) and when my cell is receiving data or sending (such as before I get a call or a text) it makes my Ipod go nuts. And no, I'm not referring to that god awful noise you get when your cell phone interferes with your FM transmission. I mean my Ipod volume starts going up and down and up and down and becomes almost uncontrollable. Sometimes I have to reset the device for it to work properly... Just curious if anyone else had seen or heard of this, and what causes it? It's not really a problem, just curiosity. ~*Ash*~
TDMA-based phones (TDMA/IS-136 and GSM) interfere with devices that are not well shielded. The solution is to separate the phone from the device that is receiving interference. There's nothing you can do about it. It's what you get when you use a GSM device.
I agree, I've had my phone mess with alarm clocks, Laptop Accessories, and so forth. Just keep em slightly seperated (could get an ipod mount in your car to ya know show it off.)
my cell phone makes my windshield wipers turn on and my horn blow whenever i access media net. just kidding... maybe. i've actually experienced some issues with my video ipod when my cell phone is on 2G and does any sort of TX or RX... ya know, just your basic interference that messes with the audio. i recommend moving your phone away from the device. should solve your problem.
Theoretically you could also build a mini faraday cage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage) to keep the ipod in, that would stop the interference.
