Cell Broadcast in North America

    Is Cell Broadcast active anywhere in the Western Hemisphere?

    I've heard that it is active in Europe, but I wonder if any carriers use it in Canada or Mexico or in the Carribean or South America?

    I've never seen Cell Broadcast used in the Western Hemisphere. GSM carriers I've used there/here include:

    USA - Airlink PCS
    USA - Centennial Wireless
    USA - Einstein PCS
    USA - NPI
    USA - Omnipoint/Voicestream/T-Mobile
    USA - AT&T
    Canada - Rogers
    Canada - Bell/Telus (UMTS)
    Costa Rica - ICE
    Peru - Telefonica
    Peru - Claro

    ...and none of them appeared to ever use cell broadcast.

    [Optus in Australia uses it, but that's not in the Western Hemisphere :p ]
